Special Programs
ESP Program
NSTA’s Exemplary Science Program (ESP) was initiated to produce monographs consisting of descriptions of programs and evidence of their effectiveness in producing superior student learning. Under the guidance of Robert E. Yager, 1982–1983 NSTA President, f ive monographs have been produced thus far—PreK–4, 5–8, 9–12, informal education, and professional development—each detailing exemplary programs selected by a national advisory board of NSES and NSTA leaders.
These exemplary programs will be shared with attendees at upcoming NSTA conferences. Four ESP Symposia are offered at the Boston conference—Symposium I: ESP Focusing on Informal Education Settings; Symposium II: ESP Focusing on Grades 5–8; Symposium III: ESP Focusing on Grades 9–12; and Symposium IV: ESP Focusing on Professional Development.
