Science Assessment: Research and Practical Approaches
A Daylong Conference Offering NSF-funded Program Findings in Assessment

In response to the current interest in science assessment strategies, NSTA will present a special research dissemination conference on this topic on Saturday, March 29. The objective of this ticketed event is to allow grades 3–12 teachers, administrators at school and district levels, and professional development providers to learn about the implications of NSF-funded researchers’ work for classroom practice and professional development.

NSTA Professional Development Institutes
Wednesday, March 26, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Room 205, BCEC
These focused, content-based programs are presented by experts in science education, professional development, and materials development. Each institute begins with a full-day preconference session on Wednesday, followed by two days of pathways sessions that offer further exploration of the topics covered. Available by preregistration only, 11 professional development institutes (PDIs) are offered at the Boston conference.

Science for Teachers of Young Learners

This ticketed one-day program will provide PreK–2 teachers with hands-on science workshops, speakers, and other activities designed to help bring the joys of science to young students.

NSTA Symposia
Presented by NSF, NASA, NOAA, FDA, and Sally Ride Science scientists, engineers, and education specialists, these half-day symposia scheduled throughout the conference include after-conference Web seminars and discussion listservs. All activities presented address National Science Education Standards. A drawing of fantastic prizes will take place at the end of each program. Walk away with a wealth of materials and lists of electronically available resources.
