NSTA Symposia

These ticketed conference workshops include presentations and classroom activities by NSTA partner organizations and authors as well as online follow-up in the form of web seminars and a discussion listserv. Three symposia are scheduled at the Portland conference.

Short Courses

Fill in your content knowledge gaps and examine in depth the very latest research and strategies with one of our 14 ticketed short courses. These intensive workshops explore topics from robotics to science literacy. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) has a special role in regards to NSTA’s Portland short courses. Eight NSTA short courses are being offered by OMSI, and graduate credit is available for these courses for an additional fee through Oregon State University (OSU). Please check back for details.

Field Trips

The Portland Conference Committee has scheduled several exciting field trips to area attractions, including Oregon National Primate Research Center, Cascades Volcano Observatory, and Vernier Software & Technology.

Social Functions

Sustain your brain! Join your colleagues for an evening of exploration at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Other ticketed socials include the CESI/NSTA Elementary Science Breakfast, the Preservice and New Teachers Luncheon, and the OSTA/WSTA Awards Breakfast Buffet.
