Timothy M. Cooney
Timothy M. Cooney is Emeritus Professor of Earth Science and Science Education at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). He was faculty advisor of the UNI-NSTA Student Chapter and served on the NSTA Board of Directors, as well as many NSTA committees. He has made numerous presentations, NSTA National and Regional Conferences.
Dr. Cooney previously taught grades 5 through 12 science, and is author of numerous journal articles, book chapters and books, as well as director for state, national and international grants for curriculum development and teacher professional development.
He received the UNI Award for Outstanding Achievement in Professional Service and the Iowa Board of Regents Award for Faculty Excellence.
Cooney holds a Bacherlor of Science degree from Lock Haven University, Master of Science degree from Elmira College and Boston College, and Doctor of Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
