Susan Mundry

Susan Mundry

Susan Mundry is Deputy Director of Learning Innovations and Associate Director of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Program at WestEd (Boston office). She directs the National Academy for Science and Mathematics Education Leadership and is Principal Investigator for two National Science Foundation projects on teacher development in mathematics and science. Susan is also a Senior Researcher for the Regional Education Laboratory–Northeast & Islands and has co-authored studies on teacher preparation and development. She also was a researcher for the National Institute for Science Education and served on the research team for the evaluation of the National Eisenhower Professional Development Program. Prior to joining WestEd, she was a teacher and staff developer and worked at The Network, Inc., an educational agency focused on supporting school improvement and dissemination of innovative practice where she provided technical assistance and served on the Senior Management Team.

Ms. Mundry is an author of several books, book chapters, articles and the co-developer of several simulation games on educational change. She is an author of Leading Every Day: 124 Action for Effective Leadership, which received a Book of the Year Award from the National Staff Development Council, Designing Effective Professional Development for Teachers of Science and Mathematics (2nd and 3rd editions), A Leader's Guide to Science Curriculum Topic Study, Professional Learning Communities for Science Teaching, and The Data Coaches Guide to Improving Learning for All Students.
