NSTA International Science Education Day
To connect science educators from various countries, NSTA holds annual international conferences in conjunction with its national conference
(2006, 2007, and 2008). Planning is currently underway for International Day at NSTA’s 2009 national conference to take place in New Orleans, LA, 19–22 March 2009.
The International Day conference recognizes NSTA’s increased emphasis on international collaboration in science education. There are numerous opportunities for international visitors to network together with science educators from various cultures, including those from North America.
International Day activities begin on Wednesday evening with a President’s International Reception for all international visitors and invited guests. The NSTA International Day Conference commences on Thursday with a plenary talk by a leading international educator, followed by concurrent sessions and poster presentations. Check back for more information about 2009 International Day activities.
The ultimate goal of all NSTA international activities is to engage more American teachers of science in international opportunities with the intent that they will become better teachers in their own classrooms and better impart the global dimensions of science to their students.
