To encourage the growth of farming communities across the nation--as well as support the communities in which Monsanto employees live and work--the Monsanto Fund invests in various programs across rural America. Every year, from January 1 through February 28 (ending at midnight Central Time), the Monsanto Fund accepts U.S. grant proposals--in locations outside of the St. Louis region--to provide basic education support designed to improve education in farming communities around the world, including supporting schools, libraries, science centers, and academic programs that enrich or supplement school programs.
