LSI 's 24-hour short course, a Lab Safety Boot Camp, provides comprehensive coverage of the fundamentals of lab safety and effective safety programs. Topics will include compressed gases, inspection of laboratories, OSHA’s bloodborne pathogens standards, and radiation. The two-day short course, LSI's flagship course, provides an in-depth look at the fundamentals of lab safety and effective lab safety programs. Participants will learn to identify and manage common laboratory hazards. LSI also offers one-day seminars, which are condensed versions of the two-day courses and are intended to provide participants with an overview of laboratory hazards, regulatory requirements, and preventive measures.

LSI on behalf of the Dow Education Foundation is now offering scholarships to secondary school science teachers for lab safety training. Funds from your approved application will cover 75% of the tuition cost and can be applied to any of LSI’s Lab Safety Short Courses. Preference is given to schools in Dow communities, but all applications will be considered. Limited to two applicants per location. These scholarships are available until all funds are allocated.
