This lesson uses the thrill of amusement park attractions to teach students
how to analyze principles of motion. The Calculator Based Laboratory helps
students record and analyze acceleration data collected on amusement park
rides. Students can concentrate on the effects of acceleration on their
bodies while collecting data. When the ride is over, students analyze the
data to determine the acceleration at particular points of the ride. Students
relate the feeling of acceleration to the graph of the data they collected.
