Health Science Projects About Nutrition describes 26 simple activities for middle or high school students. It would be a good source of enrichment ideas for a traditional course, inspiration for science fairs, or demonstrations for the teacher.

In a world where critical thinking is a must, these activities provide students an opportunity to practice their skills. Each basic activity is followed by interesting extensions. The language is clear, and the terminology appropriate to the level. Safety is emphasized in each experiment.

As an educator, I feel it is important to get input from students since they are the ones that will use the book. I had several students of different ability levels in grades seven and nine help with the review. The seventh grade students liked the activities and thought they looked fun, even though the text was challenging. The ninth grade students found the material easy to understand and thought the activities looked fun and interesting. One of my special education reluctant readers summarized: “This is a really cool book.”
