It’s Spring! provides informational text along with painted cut paper illustrations that show animal and plant life throughout the season. Each page builds upon the previous to help the reader see the sequential and cyclical aspects of animal life, plant life and weather patterns.

Interest in the subject won’t stop after the covers close. The book contains a list of activities that extend the understandings presented in the text. Each activity incorporates inquiry and process skills. Additionally, the book contains vivid, descriptive vocabulary that will serve as a foundation for independent writing. Teachers will be able to include the book in hands-on lessons that demonstrate the integration of reading, listening, writing, and science.

Read It’s Spring! aloud to young children, or encourage independent reading by students in grades 1 and 2 when you are teaching about seasons, cycles, or weather.
