This book is written for young children ages 6–9 to explain the scientific concepts of electricity in terms that can be understood. This book discusses what electricity is, how it works, and how it is used in daily living. The author includes tips for saving electricity and safety with electricity.

Each page contains science vocabulary and accompanying explanations and definitions of the words. While the vocabulary will challenge elementary readers, the large font and clear, explanatory diagrams on each page will make it accessible. Actual photographs of the science term are included on the pages.

Safety is covered in the text. There is a glossary section and additional websites and books for children to find more information about electricity. Words included in the glossary are shown in bold. This is a good science book for school libraries and classrooms. It could be used at a station or for hands–on work, as well as for reading.
