The material depicts STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) in the context of building construction, and places an emphasis on careers. The author has found an interesting and captivating method to hold the interest of upper elementary and middle school students with her writing style.

The messages are told from a child’s viewpoint with humorous interjections throughout the book. The Earth–friendly structures are well defined, illustrated, and accompanied by supporting details. Photographs of actual structures from around the world are provided, along with location and details. Science activities that relate to the structures are provided. The author includes explanations of careers for scientists, architects, and engineers related to building and maintaining eco–friendly structures. This book should be included in school and classroom libraries.
