Engaging photographs of pandas illustrate what distinguishes these popular mammals from other types of bears. Bones in their front paws make them able to grasp and pick up objects. Photos of pandas eating in the lush green countryside will hold the reader's attention. Imagine how tiny the panda is when it begins life, and how special it is to observe them in a zoo setting!

Each book in the series has solid elements to promote informational reading. Glossary words are explained on pages where they are first mentioned. Suggestions for further reading and web sites for research are also provided, including links to National Geographic and the San Diego Zoo. This book about pandas is an excellent choice for students of all ages to learn about these amazing creatures.
