Bison, which are related to cows, eat mostly grass and can weigh more that 907 kg. The book integrates history and multicultural ties. Readers will learn about an Indian legend explaining why bison have humps. Each book in the series has solid elements to promote informational reading. Glossary words are explained on pages where they are first mentioned. Suggestions for further reading and web sites for research are also provided. Bison is an excellent choice for students of all ages to learn about these amazing creatures.
