This huge book about birds will invite lively discussion in the primary classroom. It is an engagingly beautiful lift–the–flap book in which children use pictures of eggs, feathers, and silhouettes to determine which bird is being depicted.
As each bird's identity is revealed, intriguing, factual information is added so that the teacher or mentor can answer the inevitable questions or spark more conversation. This NSTA/CBC Outstanding Science Trade Book will encourage observation of birds in the school or home environment. The photos are so good that students can inquire and discover right in their seats, as well. There are lessons on life cycles, adaptations, and behavior behind the flaps to share.
