This book contains seven experiments about motion with detailed, age–appropriate instructions, background information, facts about motion, and a glossary of science words relating to motion. The book is written for students in kindergarten to grade three. With the new emphasis on physical science at the primary level in the Common Core and the Next Generation Science Standards, these activities will be appreciated.
Each experiment contains the materials needed, detailed information as to how to complete the experiment, and questions for students to answer as they complete the experiment. The author answers the questions in an appendix. The author also includes other resources on motion and an online site. There are graphics that provide students with additional instructions.
The book would be an excellent book for a classroom and school libraries and as a resource for science fair projects. Teachers who need activities to supplement the new mandates in early childhood curricula will get good ideas here.
