This book includes seven experiments on the topic of water, using everyday items children can find around the house. The author includes in the instructions that children should use a notebook to record the information as they make predictions, record what they see, and answer the questions. With the new emphasis on physical science at the primary level in the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, this collection will be appreciated.

The book is written for students in kindergarten to grade three. The author provides the beginning stages for students to carry out experiments developing predictions and conclusions. Students in kindergarten and grade one will need adult help to read the instructions and answer the questions even though the author has included graphics that non–reading students could follow with adult help(the author answers the questions in an appendix). The book lists other resources on motion and an online site.

The book would be an excellent choice for a classroom and school libraries and as a resource for science fair projects. It will also be a source of ideas for teachers who now must expand their primary science curriculum.
