In this beautifully illustrated book, readers are taken along on the journey of Apollo 11. As the Eagle lands on the Moon, young readers share the adventure, discovery, and science of that era.

The text is rich and lyrical, making it ideal for reading aloud. "The Eagle is like a gold-speckled bug falling out of the sky," the authors write, and they provide a full-page image of that "bug" as it lands on the Moon. This allows readers to feel the sensations of being on the Moon just as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin did 40 years ago.

This commemorative narrative will help a new generation share the excitement of the astronauts and the entire world four decades ago. An author's note adds historical context. This book was honored as an NSTA/CBC Outstanding Science Trade Book for 2010.
