Creatively designed text and beautiful illustrations make this picture book one that primary students will love. At the same time, multiple layers of information about the fascinating variety of birds’ nests will capture the imaginations of the mentors of all ages who share this book with them.

From the very familiar to the truly unique, nesting patterns of 40 birds are portrayed in this engaging collection. Some are smaller than ping-pong balls, and some are heavier than cars. Students can observe adaptations, think about life cycles, and appreciate the importance of protecting the spaces in which birds begin. A world map will help teachers integrate this NSTA/CBC Outstanding Science Trade Book for 2010 with all areas of their primary curriculum.
