Climate change challenges the survival of organisms from polar bears and frogs to butterflies and pikas. Elegantly illustrated, this elementary level NSTA/CBC Outstanding Science Trade Book for 2011 describes their plight. This book reveals the devastation that global warming has on these critters in different biomes throughout the world.

The author supports each full-page illustration with a paragraph of cogent text that an elementary student will understand. The book is ideal for reading aloud to start great discussions. Each page ends by asking “Who can help?” At the end of the book comes the answer: "People can." A world map shows the location of each animal described, and a page of things that average citizens of the world can do to help completes the discussion.
