Need to jazz up your lessons? Why not use Even More Picture–Perfect Science Lessons, K–5 which is a 302–page resource book featuring 15 lesson plans to use with picture books. The lesson objectives identify A Framework for K–12 Science Education and Common Core ELA standards.

Guided inquiries follow the 5E Model—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. The book was written by teachers for teachers. Sixteen teachers contributed activities and ideas. That is evident as you flip through the lessons; they've thought of everything. Lessons are complete, even down to the higher order questions that will help students to think critically. Safety tips are a part of each lesson. The related student activity sheets are included.

Short on time? Those sometimes–time–consuming scoring rubrics are at your fingertips, also. Sample t–charts, writing assignments, Web sites, and additional books to read are there when you need them. Add the recommended picture books, and you've got a lesson plan. Teachers are asked to teach reading in all content areas. This book will help teachers to fulfill that requirement in the science classroom without having to gather resources from several places. As a science teacher myself, I've already picked out several lessons that will compliment my existing plans.
