Introducing the software package “ClimProb” to their University of Nebraska-Lincoln students, the authors created a more exciting and interesting classroom environment by encouraging students to learn through critical thinking and problem solving while working with real data. This new approach has increased both the students’ enthusiasm for the subject of climatology and their performance on exams.
