Research shows that inquiry learning promotes achievement and positive student attitudes toward science. One obstacle to implementing inquiry learning, however, is the development and use of appropriate assessments. This difficulty can be eased by taking a critical look at course goals and objectives and by considering multiple assessment strategies.
