As inquiry and student developed labs become more common in K-12 education, it is essential that college courses also provide students opportunities for inquiry. While the authors describe changes in a senior level course, these changes could easily be implemented in college science labs at any level. The changes encourage students to actually think about what they are doing and why and to use the questions they develop to create their own investigation into the topic of study. Well explained and the first two examples are easy to implement for students at any level.
