Intrigued by the idea of offering creative ways to reinforce both fine-motor skills and early mathematics skills as well as being eager to work with young students, a group of five preservice teachers and their professor arranged to try a few activities at their campus day care. As a team, they created and tested a series of learning centers involving rocks and minerals. These were such a fun-filled learning success that they decided to share their experiences.
