The NSTA President's Message: Feedback and Response

by: Linda Froschauer

In her editorial, “Quality Science Teachers: Essential to America’s Future,” which appeared in the September 2006 issue of several NSTA journals, NSTA President Linda Froschauer wrote passionately about the importance of cultivating the science education system in America in order to maintain a competitive edge in the global market. She addressed the issues of not only sustaining a technological advantage, but nurturing a culture of competent science learners who “appreciate our magnificent world”. Respondents to this editorial piece provided feedback, which is presented here. It also includes the NSTA President’s response.
