Morning Meeting can find a place in any classroom and this article demonstrates how students benefit from what they discuss in morning meeting throughout the day. The community that is created through the routine and safe space of the morning meeting allow students to explore during science using the skills they learned in Morning Meeting. While there is no doubt that community takes time to build; but the prospect of students working with strong engagement, respect and cooperation will make it worth the effort!

As we learn moore about the NGSS and the Framewro for K-12 Science Education ,I found myself often remarking on the need for a safe , respecfful classroom community. The expectations in the new standards include speaking, listening, engaging in argumentation with evidence. We cannot assume students know how to do this. This article shows one way for teachers to begin to teach the Social skills neccessary for quality science instruction to occur. I have had eperience with the Responsive Classroom and I recommend tis article.
