For teachers using the Cartesian Diver activity, they will find this lesson plan an extension for teaching the concepts of density and water/air pressure. The article incorporates the classic, “20,000 Leagues under the Sea” and uses the story masterfully to enrich the lesson. There is a math connection too. You will have to read the article to discover what it is. This article was a great find for me! I plan to use it the next time I have my students make their own Cartesian divers.
