In an effort to have students understand how diseases spread and to understand what an epidemiologist does these authors created an activity for students that is a simulation in which half the class are the victims and the other half act as CDC researchers. The scenario, victim card and more are provided and explained so that this activity can be reproduced in any classroom. This seems like an engaging way for students to understand about food poisoning and the job of an epidemiologist.
