In this inquiry based activity students are grouped and have to solve a problem: How to Clean the Water. Given a variety of everyday simple equipment students must come up with a way to remove color, odor, oil and more represented by common household materials in a sample of ‘polluted’ water. A rubric is provided to guide the students. This seems like a great way to get students to think about real-world problems.
