Tried and True: A touch of neuroscience

The preteen years of the middle grades represent a time of incredible physical and mental development. Understanding the parts and functions of the brain and the nervous system gives middle grade students the opportunity to explore and understand the many physical and behavioral changes accompanying the onset of adolescence. To enhance students' understanding of the human senses and provide them with hands-on learning experiences, this series of sense modules was designed to be used as part of a unit on the human nervous system.
