Science Sampler: Science on a shoestring—How to stock your shelves with free and inexpensive science materials

Most of us have experienced the frustration of limited school science budgets, and many of us have had to resort to repeatedly dipping into our own personal funds to finance the material needs of our classrooms. With a little time and effort, you can start the school year with adequately stocked science supply shelves. Teaching science can be costly but it doesn’t have to be. This article provides valuable suggestions and creative ways to teach “science on a shoestring.”
