The word “Mashup” describes a new technology term used to describe a web application that combines data or technology from several different sources. This article describes in detail how one uses Google to in this article, the authors describe how the data collected about tree in their regional area was used to create a mashup map. Each step is provided so that you can follow along and do a similar activity. The authors also provide more information about mapmaker resources. This is very interesting and looks like fun. I can’t wait to try it. I think kids will be intrigued by the same opportunities to create these maps.
