This author incorporates the use of historical scientific investigations in his science instruction for middle school students. The process he describes is a three part approach – context, prediction and data analysis. He explains each thoroughly and then provides an example of this process to demonstrate each of the three approaches. The article includes a sample rubric for evaluating student process skills and content mastery as well as a list of possible historic experiments that can be used for this method. While this seems to be an interesting process I personally would rather analyze data that students acquired doing a hands-on activity.
