Providing students with an article and photo with the title “Aliens Among Us” is used to spark three activities that allow students to develop their critical thinking skills. This article will engage students into what many people believe is true, that there are aliens in the world we live in. This article also provides great resources from the Internet that can be used in the classroom. Along with the resources one learns historically what initially motivate the public to think they are out there.

Excellent article with instructions on how to lead such a hypothetical discussion and "investigation" in the classroom. I think it would be very easy to apply these concepts/methods to other big questions as well. The Loch Ness Monster? Sasquatch? Ghosts? Werewolves? Vampires? Enormous sea serpents? All of these have two things in common - 1) They fascinate students and 2) They have all been examined from a scientific standpoint (meaning there are methodical ways to approach the discussion). Excellent article with so many ways to go beyond an academic discussion about aliens.
