The lesson describes how to do an inquiry lesson on weather using temperature probes. The students develop questions and investigate them, about how temperatures vary, humidity, UV rays, and so on. I liked the fact that the assessment also used technology. Students used digital cameras or "flip" video to tape their lab reports to present to the class, including shots of them gathering and analyzing the data - wonderful way to have student model science procedures (and to open discussions on ways to improve them if necessary). This makes it so much easier for teachers to use those special "eyes in the back of their heads" to keep up with how everyone is doing!
