This article is about making ice cream in a science class. Doing so involves a wide variety of science concepts. The main variable tested in this experiment is the concentration of rock salt in water used to freeze the ice cream. Temperatures are compared. The only thing I would suggest changing in this article would be to use sealed ziplock plastic bags for the ice cream rather than open cans. This way no salt or water can accidentally end up in the ice cream!!

This lab involving creating ice cream is more inquiry than I have done previously when making ice cream. It requires a great deal of rock salt. I second the suggestion that to make it easier to use milk and vanilla instead. I even use imitation vanilla to make it even cheaper.
