The authors provide a wonderful overview of the advantages of using an iPad in the classroom. I appreciated the small list of apps the authors found useful for classroom teachers and students as well. The one thing the article fails to mention is the number one drawback I find with the iPad, that is it’s inability to play Flash files. More than once I have accessed a video I wanted to use with my students, or websites that had interactive features, only to find I needed Flash for it to work correctly. That was disappointing.
All other aspects of the iPad have proven useful. I like it’s portability, the graphics and screen resolution is great. When I hook it up to my classroom projector, the students are not disappointed.
