The authors of this article don't want students to loose their wonder and curiosity while doing science so they created this activity using dinosaur tracks. Students used observation and inference to explain the data they collected about dinosaur tracks. Then the students discussed their explanations of what the dinosaurs were doing. Thus students learned how scientific explanations are created.
