Summary This article introduces a technology that has been widely used in the teaching of middle school students in recent years -- 3D printing. The author is committed to offering 3D design classes on campus to enable students to participate in design by themselves and prepare for modeling. For teachers who want to teach 3D in the classroom, here are some Suggestions on how to get the hardware, such as using free software on the Internet, working with local science and technology institutions, and so on. Next, the author introduces a common 3D model, toy building bricks. The author introduces the use of toy building bricks and explains how to lead students to explore more difficult 3D printing technology after they master this activity. The author also assumes that the entire course will take 12 weeks, so what will be taught in each of those 12 weeks. In the last part of the article, the author also shows the process of guiding students to operate the final project and what should be done by students in each part. Three ways of connecting 3D design course with science course are given. In the end, the author summarizes the whole paper, reiterating the help that 3D course can bring to students, and the help that 3D design course can bring to students in other subjects.
