The Virtual Gorilla Modeling Project (VGOR) was an inservice collaboration of secondary teachers during a professional development at a zoo. During this 10 day workshop teachers learned about primatology specifically gorillas and VGOR monitoring systems. The teachers recorded gorilla vocalizations, evaluated their behavior using an ethogram of their behavior, analyzed nose prints, and generated research questions. Resources are provided at the end of the article. It really sounded like a fun summer activity for educators.
