The authors present a positive message to balance the gloom and doom message - even though there are significant environmental problems we face, we can re-stack the deck. Using a series of case studies (which can be student or teacher-generated) students generate feedback loop diagrams and interventions to reverse the change that is causing the declines. This encourages students to work together to identify problems and possible solutions, and develops their analytical skills. The skills used can be applied locally or globally.
