Students would enjoy the kinesthetic nature of this activity, which helps students to visualize how new species arise from a combination of mutations and geographic isolation. Despite having read the directions several times, however, I had difficulty understanding exactly how to carry out the activity with students and the data analysis was confusing . Students who struggle in science may have trouble understanding the activity.
