This article is a brief summary of changes found in the recently revised Hazard Communication Standard (GHS) rule that the Occupational Safety and Health Adminsitration (OSHA) for the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) has adopted. Manufacturers must now, starting 2013, provide appropriate hazard warnings including; globally accepted pictogram (illustrated in article), signal words, hazard statement, and a precautionary statement. Also included in this article is a timeline for the implementation of the new GHS standards.
