It is a wonderful feeling when you appear so young that you are questioned about being a teacher or student. However, when you are in the role of teacher you should dress so that there is no question that you are the professional and the adult in the classroom. This article reinforced this with suggestions that include the following: dress for success; establish boundaries early; use Facebook judiciously; and enjoy your new experiences. This article which makes sense would be a good article to pass on to someone who is just out of college and starting their career as an educator.

This article on advice for new teachers has some great ideas. One in particular is to dress for success, in other words, dress as a professional so other teachers and students do not take you for a student yourself. Another piece of advice is to establish boundaries within the first month of school – but I disagree with this- it should start with the very first day of school and be established by the end of the first week. If it takes a month, things are already out of hand!! And as the article states, have fun with your new professional and do as much as you can to enhance it.
