I loved the suggestions given throughout the resource to help students read with a purpose, not only for popular articles, but also textbooks. Many of my students struggle with reading comprehension. The graphic organizers shown in this resource would certainly help them find meaning in what they are reading and also help them identify evidence to support their scientific argument.

This article was a great one to read. It was fantastic to read about the researching of science in the classroom. It is crucial for students to understand the importance of proper writing techniques early on. I am a pre-service teacher and still learn new writing techniques daily. It is much simpler than it needs to be. Simplifying it for students should be the main concern of reading and writing skills scientifically!
