Finders Keepers: Essentials of Safer Storage

by: John Summers, Juliana Texley, and Terry Kwan

More than any other community college instructional disciplines, laboratory sciences require safe and secure storage facilities. This includes storage within the classroom/lab, as well as dedicated storage areas adjacent to but separate from the classroom/lab. This chapter discusses storage and highlights three issues for safety in science materials storage—limiting the amount stored, limiting the types of materials stored, and limiting access to storage spaces.
