Trees From Helicopters, Continued

by: Richard Konicek-Moran

Maples are very interesting trees with lots of variation in form. They provide a view of diversity in plants as well as a chance to look at natural phenomena that is very common to anyone who has had a maple tree near them. The main purpose of this story is to allow students to examine what happens in the reproductive life of trees. It also provides an excellent opportunity for students to observe, draw, and describe in their science notebooks the changes that take place over time.
