Why Should Anyone Care About Evolution?

by: John Feldman and Rodger W. Bybee

This chapter is designed as a final evaluation and serves as a culmination for EVO. Students are asked to develop an argument for evolution. The lesson begins with the question, Why should anyone care about evolution? Students present their ideas. The lesson continues to the EVO DVD where scientists briefly summarize their answers to the question. Students then work individually on short, two-page statements that represent their answers to the question. Using this approach makes connections to the language arts, in particular the Common Core Standards for Language Arts.

The DVD EVO: Ten Questions Everyone Should Ask About Evolution is also available for purchase.
